Whole Home Remodeling in Superior, CO
Superior is a great place to live. The trails, the views of the Flatirons, the easy hop to Boulder or Denver. What isn’t always great? A house that still looks exactly like the day the builder handed over the keys.
That’s where we come in. ADO Renovations plans and builds full home remodels for Superior homeowners who love where they live and just want the inside to catch up.
The Superior Houses We See Most
A lot of the homes we walk into here, especially around Rock Creek, went up in the 1990s and early 2000s. They’re well built. Roomy, too. But almost every one has the same tells: honey oak cabinets and trim, a formal living room that nobody sits in, a formal dining room that mostly collects mail, and bathrooms with the builder’s basic tile and a fiberglass tub.
Then you’ve got the older places in and around Original Town, which come with their own personality (and their own quirks once you start opening walls).
Here’s the thing about a house that’s 25 or 30 years old. It’s hitting the age where a lot of the original finishes are wearing out at the same time. Countertops with chipped edges, carpet that’s been through three dogs, grout that won’t come clean no matter what you try. So when a family calls us about “just” the kitchen, we usually end up talking about the whole picture. Tackling it all in one planned project tends to cost less than chipping away at it over ten years, and you only live through one construction mess instead of five.
Where We'd Put Your Money First
People ask me this all the time, so here’s my take.
Start with how the house works, not how it looks. That means the floor plan. Those unused formal rooms are some of the most valuable square footage in the home, and turning them into a bigger kitchen, an office, or a main floor guest suite changes how you live every single day. New paint on a layout you don’t like is still a layout you don’t like.
Next, the kitchen and bathrooms, because those are the rooms you use hardest. This is where moving a sink, swapping that fiberglass tub for a walk in shower, or adding a double vanity pays off every morning. Our plumber handles those fixture installs, so you’re not stuck coordinating another company.
Finishes come last, and they’re where you get to have fun. Cabinets, countertops, flooring, tile, trim, paint. We’ll help you pick materials that look current without chasing a trend that’ll feel dated in five years.
We can’t talk about Superior without mentioning the Marshall Fire. It hit this community hard, and since then a lot of homeowners have been rethinking what the outside of their house is made of. If your remodel includes a new deck or fencing, we’ll walk you through material options and what each one means for durability and upkeep, then build to the codes the Town of Superior currently requires.
A quick practical note: many Superior neighborhoods have HOA design guidelines for exterior changes. We’ll help you put together what your HOA needs to see before any exterior work gets scheduled, so nothing gets held up later.
Every job starts with a walkthrough. I want to see the house, hear what’s bugging you, and get a real sense of your budget. From there, our in house design team sketches out layouts and works through selections with you, and you’ll get a detailed, itemized estimate before anything is signed.
We handle permits with the Town of Superior, set the schedule, and loop in a structural engineer any time a wall we want to move is carrying weight. Once construction starts, you’ll hear from us regularly. Not a vague “it’s going fine,” but what got done this week, what’s next, and any decisions we need from you.
At the end, we do a full walkthrough together and knock out every item on the punch list. The job’s finished when you’re happy with it. Not before.
We’re a local, owner run company based in Westminster, a short drive down US 36. I’m Adnan Gazibara, and I’m personally involved in the projects we take on. You won’t get passed around.
Our design and construction crews are our own people, which is the biggest reason our work stays consistent from one house to the next. And since most of our business comes from referrals, we’ve got every reason to treat your home like our reputation depends on it. Because it does.
Superior Whole Home Remodeling FAQs
Do I need HOA approval for my remodel?
For interior work, usually not. For anything that changes the outside (a new deck, fencing, or anything visible from the street), many Superior HOAs require design review first. We’ll help you gather drawings and material specs so your submittal is complete the first time.
How long does a whole home remodel take?
Most full remodels run somewhere between three and six months. Projects with structural changes or a lot of custom work can go longer. We’ll give you a realistic timeline once the design is set, and we’ll tell you right away if anything shifts.
Is it smarter to remodel or just move?
That’s a personal call, but in a town where homes don’t come up for sale very often, a lot of families would rather stay and make their current house fit. If you love your street and your schools, remodeling lets you keep both.
Can you update a 1990s home without gutting the entire thing?
Yes. Plenty of our projects keep what’s working (solid framing, a staircase you like, hardwood that just needs refinishing) and focus the budget on the rooms that need it most. A full remodel doesn’t have to mean starting from studs everywhere.
Do I need to hire an architect or designer separately?
In most cases, no. Design is part of what we do in house. If your project needs a structural engineer or specialty drawings, we coordinate that for you.
